The Norwegian Cultural Orientation (NORCO) programme is a project that focuses on providing orientation session to help refugees integrate and understand Norwegian culture and society prior to their arrival. It also aims to disseminate information about the countries from which the refugees have fled. The main goals of NORCO involve not only the integration of refugees and migrants into society, but also their self-empowerment and raising awareness among locals about the newcomers.
The cultural orientation classes involves taking classes, four days for adults and two days for children, where the participants actively engage in learning about their host country’s culture through debates, case studies, games, and other interactive activities with the help of a bi-cultural trainer.
